The Nigerian government has announced that talks are currently ongoing, with the organizers of the American Grammy Awards to establish an African version.
Hannatu Musawa, the Minister of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, had told Vanguard reporters this during a chat on Tuesday, February 27.
According to the minister, Nigeria, being the home and founder of Afrobeats, has to be counted as one of the founding members of African Grammys.
She also revealed that other African countries like Rwanda, South Africa and Kenya were championing the move to launch an African version of the Grammys.
This news is coming three weeks after the annual Grammy Award show was held in the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
