Nigerian actress and model Annie Macaulay Idibia has reaffirmed her devotion to her daughters, describing them as her only true family and the pillars of her strength.
Annie, who recently parted ways with music legend 2Face Idibia, made the remarks during an interview at the Headies Awards held on Sunday in Lagos.
When asked about her family by a journalist, she made it clear that her focus is solely on her children.
“You mean my children? My children dey Kampe. The first one dey Yankee, she dey go school. No play with that girl o. I don’t play with my kids. Na them be my backbone,” she said.
The actress shares two daughters, Isabella and Olivia, with 2Face. Her emotional comments come amid the couple’s ongoing separation, which recently made headlines again after 2Face publicly introduced a new partner, Natasha, to his mother just a day before the Headies event.
Annie also sparked buzz during her on-stage appearance when she appeared to take a jab at her estranged husband while introducing herself.
“My name is Annie Idi—oh sorry, Annie Macaulay. Hey, single ladies!” she said, drawing cheers from the audience.
Her remarks and stage presence have since gone viral, with many fans applauding her for embracing her independence and prioritizing her children.
