It has been reported that a fuel tanker had turned over at the Otedola Bridge in Lagos State. This accident resulted in the collision of different vehicles which has also led to a fire incident
According to the statement from Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, (LASEMA) signed by Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary, the agency had confirmed the accident after receiving a distress call which they quickly responded to. They said that the fire service, police force, and the emergency team has tried to put out the fire in other to prevent more loss of lives and property.
The effort is also ongoing to recover some of the products in the tanker which would be transferred to another tanker. The road has been opened for vehicles to pass, however, it has also been reported that an adult which is one of the motor boys of the tanker had lost his life in the incident.
The public has also been advised to desist from trying to illegally get the products from the tanker as this could lead to another fire incident and more lives and properties could be lost in the process.
