Certain chieftains of the ruling political party, APC, in Kaduna State have reportedly been abducted in an attack along the Kaduna-Kachia highway in Kaduna State.
According to a reputable newspaper: Daily Trust, the attack happened on Thursday, September 22, at Tashar Icey, some meters away from the Kujama community in Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna. The team had been on their way back from Kafanchan after a political meeting with Christian leaders in the Southern Senatorial District when tragedy struck.
The entourage party were; the DG Campaign of Uba Sani Campaign Organization, Prof Sani Bello, Mainan Zazau, Director of Organization, Engr Namadi, Special Adviser to the Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Maiyaki, Engr Jamilu, the Personal Assistant to Senator Uba Sani, other aides and security officers.
A politician who escaped the attack, described the incident as terrible, adding that the bandits had opened fire sporadically. While some people in the entourage sustained gun injuries, two individuals were kidnapped.
Among those abducted in the incident is the APC House of Assembly candidate in Kajuru, Mr. Madaki, and the Vice chairman of APC in Kajuru Local Government Area, Ruben Waziri. Ben Maigari, a relation of the Vice Chairman, confirmed the incident, adding that they (the family) were yet to be contacted by the abductors.
