Popular musician, Olubankole Wellington, also known as Banky W, has won the ticket to contest for House of Representatives under the umbrella of the People’s Democratic party.
He won the ticket for the Eti-Osa constituency with an overwhelming win against Sam Aiboni with 28 votes out of 31 votes.
The returning officer had described the selection process as peaceful and very transparent.
Banky W on the other hand showed his gratitude to those who supported him and ascribed his win to the grace of God and the will of the people.
“I am overwhelmed by the support of my constituency, the people, the ward chairmen, the leaders, and the chieftains of the party.” He said.
