The Naira Marley-Mohbad-Iyabo Ojo Saga doesn’t seem like it’ll be ending soon.
Recall that last week, Naira Marley aka Azeez Fashola through his lawyer, Olalekan Ojo, SAN accused veteran actress, entrepreneur, and movie producer, Iyabo Ojo of libel over Mohbad’s death.
The news had shaken up the internet, and had many people picking sides and attacking one another verbally online.
But it seems Iyabo Ojo is not giving in to the fight as she took to her verified Instagram page to announce her response to Naira Marley’s accusation.
She had captioned the post which included 5 slides of court documents: “My response to the letter from Mr Olalekan Ojo SAN deliberately circulated over social and print media without deliberate courtesy to serve me.”
The actress’s legal firm, The Maverick forte legal had detailed in the court letter that their client ( Iyabo Ojo) had as at the moment of their releasing the counter suit, yet to receive the suit of which was splattered all over social media and the news press.
Ojo’s Solicitors went further to state that without any form of ambiguity or iota of doubt, their client was reiterating that “there are reasonable causes to believe that Naira Marley could not be isolated from the psychological trauma, mental torture, emotional outburst and anxiety suffered by the late singer, Mohbad, taking cognisance of the sad events after Mohbad’s termination of its recording contract, viral gory videos, cryptic songs, Mohbad’s petition, threats and lastly, our clients’ personal encounter with Mohbad amongst several others.”’
In addition to this, Iyabo Ojo was also claiming the sum of One Billion Naira (1,000,000,000) from Naira Marley for deliberately misleading the public and causing grievous harm to her face value as a public figure, loss of income, tarnishing of her image, and for first bringing to the media/public, a letter addressed but deliberately not delivered/served.
The court letter was duly signed by The Maverick-Forte Legal Epicentre and dated 18th December, 2023.
