President Muhammadu Buhari has warned that unless the leaders of the All Progressives Congress and APC come together and avoid divisions, they may taste defeat in the 2023 general elections.

Buhari had made this remark while visiting Daura, his hometown in Katsina State. The Nigerian President had also added that the APC must cooperate to ensure victory in the 2023 elections.

According to a statement signed on Saturday, December 11, by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, he had said that the party leaders need to put heads together to avoid separations and ensure unity in order to avoid defeat at the elections.

He also revealed that he received frequent reports on the ongoing campaigns in Katsina State and felt happy that so much hard work was being invested into the campaign exercise.

Buhari, then reiterated his determination to promote the reign of free, fair, and credible elections in the country, adding that the voting outcomes in Anambra, Ekiti, and Osun States were all testimonies of that resolution on his part.
