Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy is scheduled to perform at the Wireless Festival in the UK.
The UK’s leading urban music festival, a three-day event, is set to take place at London’s Finsbury Park from July 11 to 13.
US rapper Drake will headline the festival for all three days in honour of its 20th anniversary.
Burna Boy is set to perform as a special guest on Sunday. Other confirmed artistes for the festival include Summer Walker, Vybz Kartel, PartyNextDoor, and The Mandem.
The organisers stated that the complete lineup of performers would be unveiled soon.
This will mark Burna Boy’s second appearance at the festival, having first performed in 2020. He was also set to perform at the 2022 edition but withdrew a few days before due to personal reasons.
Born Damini Ogulu, Burna Boy rose to fame with the release of “Like to Party,” the lead single from his debut album L.I.F.E (2013).
Since then, he has released seven albums: L.I.F.E (2013), On a Spaceship (2015), Outside (2018), African Giant (2019), Twice As Tall (2020), Love, Damini (2022), and I Told Them (2023).
He has also won several awards, including the Grammy Award for Best World Music Album in 2021 for his fifth album, Twice As Tall.
