Canadian stage actor Julian Arnold died suddenly on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at age 60.
Arnold apparently experienced some kind of medical emergency during a performance of A Christmas Carol at the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton. He was pronounced dead on the scene after numerous attempts at resuscitation, Alberta Health Services said.
The Citadel Theatre leadership, Jessie van Rijn and Daryl Cloran, described Arnold as an extraordinary talent who breathed life and depth into his characters. “He will be profoundly missed, both on and off the stage,” read their statement.
Arnold’s sudden demise has left a huge vacuum in the Canadian theater, for which his commitment and artistry had been some of the biggest strengths.
