Gunmen have abducted Reverend Father Jeremiah Yakubu, the parish priest of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Karku, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The incident occurred at around 11pm on Sunday, as Father Yakubu was taken from the parish rectory.
Although the police authorities in Kaduna have not yet commented on the situation, Reverend Father Emmanuel Okolo, the Chancellor of Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, issued a statement confirming the kidnapping.
He urged intense prayers for the safe and swift release of Father Yakubu, while also appealing to the parishioners to refrain from taking matters into their own hands.
