Following the recent fallout between teammates Enzo Fernandez and Wesley Fofana, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca sought to address the matter. All of this started when Fernandez took to social media to post a video of himself and his fellow Argentina nationals singing a song that was perceived to be controversial towards the French national team, which then angered Fofana. Fofana went on to describe the video as “uninhibited racism,” hence the big stir.
Now, however, everything has been sorted out, Maresca has confirmed. “There was a meeting with Enzo, some friends of his, and Wes was there. They talked openly about what happened. It is normal that sometimes the first reactions are hard to deal with these things,” Maresca said. “With time, it’s easier to understand that nothing evil was intended. Among colleagues, everybody knows that Enzo Fernandez is a good guy.”
These very words from the Chelsea coach prove that players have managed to reconcile and move past the conflict, restoring harmony within the squad.
