Umuahia, the Abia State capital, turned into a vibrant music haven as top Nigerian artistes lit up the Umuahia Township Stadium with unforgettable performances.
The event, organised by Abia-born businessman Lucky Igbokwe, celebrated the unveiling of his two newly established radio stations—Don 103.7 FM and Ikoro 93.3 FM—and drew a massive crowd of music lovers from across the region.
Among the star attractions were Davido, Timaya, KCEE, and highlife legend Bright Chimezie. However, it was Davido and Chimezie who stole the show, captivating fans with back-to-back performances that left the audience in a frenzy.
Davido’s entrance sparked wild excitement, with fans singing along word-for-word as he performed crowd favourites, including his hit track With You. The energy reached another high when Bright Chimezie took the stage, delivering his classic Because of English to thunderous applause and non-stop dancing from the crowd.
The chemistry between the two stars, who were recently seen together in Lagos, thrilled fans further. Inside the stadium, chants calling for a collaboration between Davido and the highlife icon echoed loudly.
Many also hailed Davido as “our in-law” in reference to his wife, Chioma, who hails from the Igbo ethnic group.
With thousands in attendance and the stadium brimming with celebration, the night was a powerful blend of cultural pride, musical excellence, and unforgettable memories.
