Iconic actor and stuntman Jackie Chan has reassured fans after concerns were raised about his appearance in photographs published earlier this year.
The police story Hero was pictured with greying hair, a sight which prompted a lot of speculations about his health.
Jackie taking to his social media handle in celebration of his milestone 70th birthday, has reassured concerned fans that the photos were actually him costuming for his latest movie role after expressing his views about turning 70.
Chan wrote via Instagram under several throwback images on Sunday. “Every time I hear this number, my heart would stop for a second – I’m 70 years old already?”
He continued, “After recovering from the shock, the second thing that would come to my mind is a saying that my big brother Sammo Hung once said: ‘Being able to grow old is a fortunate thing.’ Especially for us stunt people, we don’t know how lucky we are to be able to grow old.”
Addressing his health speculation, he said. “I want to take this opportunity to let everyone know, don’t worry! It’s just a character appearance for my latest movie.”
According to the “Rush Hour” star, the character required him to have white hair and a matching beard, but he did not specify what role it was.
In November 2023, it was announced that Chan would be reprising his role as Mr. Han in an upcoming remake of “The Karate Kid.”
The film set to be released on Dec. 13, 2024 will be set on the East Coast.
Despite aging, we obviously still have more of the drunken Monster to see on our screens!
