Twitter has seen continuous user growth of its platform since Elon Musk officially took over the helm at the social media company after paying a whopping $44 billion to make the firm his.
Over the days since he purchased the microblogging platform, there have been reports of users exiting Twitter en masse, with celebrities like Shonda Rhimes, Gigi Hadid, Sara Bareilles, Toni Braxton, and several others quitting the social media app after leaving a public statement criticizing the firm.
But new user data shared by Musk on Tuesday, November 8, revealed that the reverse is the case, as user growth in the platform had hit an all-time high, within a week of Musk’s leadership.
The Verge reported about a 20 percent growth in user figures. This goes to show that Twitter is now being used more than ever.
While reacting to the recent growth, Musk tweeted:
“Twitter usage is at an all-time high lol.” While adding: “I just hope the servers don’t melt!”
