In order to wait until Monday to announce the winner, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has finished compiling the results of the Enugu governorship race.
Ofo Iwe, the INEC returning officer for the election, made this announcement on Sunday night after the results from Enugu’s 17 local government areas had been compiled.
In the race for governor, Peter Mba of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is far ahead of Chijioke Edeoga of the Labour Party.
Frank Nweke of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Uche Nnaji of the All Progressives Congress are additional contenders for governor in the campaign (APC).
The commission would meet again by 8:00 a.m. on Monday, according to the returning officer.
