Nollywood star Etinosa Idemudia has voiced deep frustration after her movie was removed from YouTube following a copyright claim she insists is fraudulent.
In an emotional Instagram post, the filmmaker said she invested her “ideas, money, time, sweat, and every piece” of herself into the project, only for it to be taken down by someone who had no legitimate claim to it.
She specifically called out Diamond Films, the entity that issued the copyright strike, questioning the motive behind what she described as an unjust and malicious act.
According to her, the project was far more than just a video — it represented years of imagination, long hours, sleepless nights, and her full creative commitment. Etinosa revealed that discovering the film had been removed left her struggling to hold back tears.
“I just got the most painful notification ever. My film — SECRET KEEPER that I poured my ideas, my money, time, and sweat, and every piece of my heart into — was unfairly taken down by someone who has no right to claim it,” she wrote. Directly addressing the claimant, she added, “‘Diamond Films’, I don’t know who you are, and I’m dying to know why you will do such a wicked thing to me.”
Expressing her devastation, she continued, “I’m so hurt because this project isn’t just a video to me, it’s years of dreaming, months of work, sleepless nights, and everything I had to give. To see it removed so cruelly… I’m fighting tears.”
Despite the setback, Idemudia vowed not to give up, assuring fans that she is doing everything possible to restore the film. She thanked those who alerted her to the issue, as well as viewers and supporters who continue to stand by her.
“I want you all to know this isn’t the end. I’m fighting to get our movie back,” she said, adding that her supporters are the strength keeping her focused. She concluded with a note of determination: “No matter how hard this gets, I won’t stop. This film will come back, so help me God.”
