Armed men have kidnapped a female realtor, known as Esther, in Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The abduction happened on Monday near the Admiralty University of Nigeria, only a few days after a farmer was kidnapped in Issele-Azagba.
According to PUNCH Online, Esther was surveying a piece of land with three colleagues when the attackers arrived.
“They went for inspection, and they were on their way back when they were ambushed.
“The gunmen shot at the vehicle, and the others escaped while the girl was whisked away by the gunmen,” a source said.
One of those who escaped was said to have suffered gunshot wounds and is now in critical condition at a hospital.
On Tuesday, State Police Public Relations Officer Bright Edafe confirmed the incident, revealing that officers sent to rescue the victim were ambushed, and one officer was shot.
He said, “Yes, it’s confirmed. Some police officers who were going for the rescue of the victim were ambushed, and a police officer was shot, but nobody died.”
