FULL LIST: AMVCA Drops Nominees For 12th Edition Ceremony

The Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards has released the list of nominees for its upcoming 12th edition, with the ceremony slated for May 9, 2026.

As part of preparations for this year’s event, veteran actress Joke Silva was previously announced as Head Judge, taking over the position from filmmaker Femi Odugbemi.

A total of 32 categories will be contested at the awards, including 18 determined by a panel of judges, 11 decided through audience votes, and three honorary recognitions such as the Lifetime Achievement and Trailblazer awards.

In a notable update, organisers introduced two new categories—Best Indigenous Language Film (North Africa) and Best Indigenous Language Film (Central Africa)—to further promote inclusivity and highlight storytelling from different regions across the continent.

The nominees were unveiled during a live broadcast on Africa Magic channels, hosted by actor Chimezie Imo.

With anticipation building, the 2026 edition is expected to bring together leading figures in African entertainment, celebrating outstanding contributions to film and television.
