Google has begged to be pardoned for a software update issue that generated a major international outage on Tuesday. A representative for the tech giant company recounted that the team had worked immediately to solve the issue and that services were back and running as normal currently.
“We’re aware of a software update issue that happened late this afternoon Pacific Time and shortly affected the availability of Google search and Google Maps,” the company’s representative had said.
“We apologize for any inconveniences caused. We have worked to quickly address the issue and our services are now back online.”
The outage was immediately noticed and reported by various technology platforms.
Users had said that “sister” platforms like Gmail, Google maps, and Google images were also experiencing problems at the time as they all relied on Google’s search engine to work.
Network intelligence company ThousandEyes Inc has reported that the Google outages were affecting about 1,338 servers worldwide across more than 40 countries including the United States of America, Australia, South Africa, Israel, Kenya, and some parts of South America, Europe, and Asia including Japan and China.
