Popular Nigerian Singer, Harrison Tare Okiri, better known by his stage name Harrysong has called out for help from his fans and well meaning Nigerians.
The Nigerian songwriter and instrumentalist had taken to his official Instagram handle to make the appeal.
He had written on his Instagram story:
“I am here to beg you all to help me and follow me beg Kingsley Okonkwo, known as Kcee to refund my money and release my songs. For more than 7 years now, he’s been the one collecting 100% of my royalties from ‘Reggae Blues’, ‘Baba for the Girls’, ‘Samankwe’, ‘Better Pikin’, ‘Ofeshe’, that is, all my big songs. He collects 100 percent of my royalties. It is not fair. At the least, he can take his percentage and give me what is rightfully mine.”
“I started this post by begging. Na beg I dey beg am. I know he like to bully, he’s the power mike, help me beg him, the songs are mine, he should at least be fair to give me what is rightfully mine. May God not let us work and another man [will] just be reaping our hard earned swear in Jesus name.” The post finished.

Ever since the Mohbad/Naira Marley saga, Nigerian artistes have gained confidence in coming out to the world for any difficulties they may be having. This was seen in DJ Splash’s case.
It is noteworthy to mention that Kcee is the owner of the record label: Five Star Music.
Nigerians have reacted to Harrysong’s post in a number of ways. Some had inquired on the terms of the contract Harrysong had signed while others had simply asked the singer to take Kcee to court if he was sure of his rights.
All attempts to reach Harrysong and his manager proved abortive as they didn’t reply to a text I sent them this morning
What do you the reader think about Harrysong should do in this situation?
