The House of Representatives has postponed plenary session until December 12 after passing the 2024 budget proposal through second reading.
Recall that the House resolved to hold a session on Friday to permit the House members to debate the N27.5 trillion budget.
The members discussed the bill on Thursday and continued the debate on Friday during the special session.
After some lawmakers debated the bill, it was queried and passed without much resistance.
Following the passage of the bill through second reading, the Speaker, Abbas Tajudeen announced that the House would delay the plenary session until December 12, to enable committees to work on the budget.
The postponement was subsequently moved by the Deputy Majority Leader, Ali Halims and was adopted.
