Nigerian music star Davido has shared his thoughts on his children’s future, revealing that he prefers they work within the family business instead of pursuing careers in the entertainment industry.
Speaking during an interview on The Breakfast Club, the singer explained that his stance is shaped by his personal experiences while trying to break into music without his father’s initial support.
He disclosed that he would rather have his children work with his father, Deji Adeleke, noting that the environment offers more comfort and stability.

“Omo, go and work with my dad. Every Christmas, my dad takes all the grandkids with him. And I could just see that upon all the things he has including multiple private jets and all that, his happiness is him seeing his grandchildren.
“And my father is single. So I just saw his happiness and I’m like meh, this is like what life is all about,” he said.
Davido also opened up about how his father’s earlier disapproval of his music career affected him emotionally.
“My dad not wanting me in the entertainment really killed my joy until he saw that this boy is really adamant about doing this. I wouldn’t want to do that to my kids as well,” he added.
While maintaining his preference, the singer clarified that he would not stand in the way of his children if they choose to follow a similar path, noting that one of his daughters is already showing interest in music and performance.
