The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC on Tuesday, February 28 declared the Zamfara Central senatorial district election inconclusive.
According to the Returning Officer of the senatorial district, Prof. Ahmad Galadima, the cancellation affected at least 74 polling units from the 19 registration areas of Bungude, Gusau, and Tsafe.
According to Galadima, the total number of Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, collected was 43,881, which was more than the margin lead of the two political parties with the highest votes, APC and PDP.
The PDP candidate scored a total of 93,120 while the APC candidate polled 79,444.
Meanwhile, the returning officers have revealed that the electoral body would announce the date for fixing supplementary elections later on.
