The Indigenous People of Biafra -IPOB, on Friday, October 29 accused President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration of planning to overrun Nigeria’s affairs to terrorists ahead of the 2023 elections.
This accusation was in a statement issued by its IPOB spokesman, Emma Powerful.
The IPOB had reacted to alerts issued by the United States and the United Kingdom governments over planned terror attacks on FCT, Abuja.
The statement read:
“The Nigerian administration has carefully positioned these terrorists to takeover Abuja once they know that power will slip out of their hands during the upcoming charade they call an election, and they will, on behalf of the Fulani, take over the reins of power in an invasion commando style, just as it happened in Afghanistan.”
“We are very much in the know, that the Fulani-controlled Federal Government of Nigeria has concluded arrangements to hand over the Government of Nigeria to their sponsored terrorists in the coming days.”
The group had also renewed its demand for the release of its detained leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
The Appeal Court had, however, on Friday, October 29, set aside the previous ruling which discharged the activist on treasonable charges.
“We are warning the Fulani Government to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu urgently,” the statement urged.
