Veteran Nollywood actress Jumoke George has made an emotional appeal for support, revealing she has been homeless for years, battling severe health issues, and coping with the disappearance of her eldest daughter.
In a heartfelt interview with fellow actress Biola Bayo, Jumoke disclosed that she has been living in a church for nearly six years, depending on the generosity of the church leader for food and shelter.
The actress also opened up about her deteriorating health, stating that she has been ill since January and urgently needs N400,000 to undergo critical brain and heart tests.
“Please pray for me, mothers in the world. Help me with your prayers. I have never ruined anyone’s life. I am tired, I can no longer bear it,” she said tearfully.
“I don’t have a home, I don’t have anything, and a child of mine is missing. I don’t have good health, I’m tired and exhausted. I’m living in the church. Most times, it’s the church mummy that feeds me.”
Jumoke also shared the pain of losing contact with her first child, Adeola, who has been missing for four years and would have turned 41 on May 1.
Since then, the actress has taken on the responsibility of caring for her grandchildren.
“I’ve been sick since January 2. I’ve tried my best as a human. I’ve done several tests, but now I need to do brain and heart tests, which cost N400,000. I don’t know where to get the money from.
“I don’t sleep because I’m always in pain. Everything is wrong with me. I don’t understand anymore. I’ve put that child in so much debt,” she added.
Jumoke’s story has sparked concern among fans and colleagues, many of whom are calling for urgent assistance to support the ailing actress.
