The All Progressive Congress, APC, National Executive Committee, NEC, has just chosen ex-Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, as the National Chairman of the party.
The party’s NEC had also elected Ajibola Basiru, the former Senate spokesman, who hails from Osun State, as the National Secretary.
The two newly elected officials were chosen today at the 12th NEC meeting of the party held at Transcorp Hilton in FCT Abuja.
Ganduje, while addressing party leaders after his appointment, had thanked the Presidency, promising that internal democracy would triumph in the party during his term in office.
The ex-Kano governor also promised to pay the most attention to election management and to resolve conflict amicably.
President Bola Tinubu, his Vice President Kashim Shettima, and several members of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, and the chieftains of the party in the National Assembly, had been in attendance at the NEC meeting.
President Tinubu had addressed the 12th APC NEC, stating that since the APC had won the elections, it was now time to double down and deliver on the promises of good governance, to the Nigerian people.
