4 persons have been confirmed dead, while 56 others sustained injuries in a car crash on the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway, according to reports by the Federal Road Safety Corps, Kaduna Sector Command.

Mr Kabir Nadabo, the Sector Commander disclosed this news on Tuesday in Kaduna. He had revealed that the road traffic crash occurred at Sabon Sara village along the expressway on boxing day.

The unfortunate accident had involved a trailer and preliminary investigations have revealed that the cause of the crash was overloading of goods and fatigue on the part of the driver.

Kadebo further explained that the injured have been taken to St. Gerard and AP Smart Hospitals, Kaduna.

Finally, he urged the general public to to strictly adhere to all safety regulations on the road, as the Yuletide season is the most travelled period of the year, hence the constant road traffic crashes.

He thereafter assured the public that the corps were doing everything possible to curb the menace of auto crashes and save lives and properties.
