The Katsina State government has just announced Thursday and Friday, January 26 and 27 public holidays in anticipation of President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit, who is additionally an indigene of the state.
Buhari, who is expected to arrive in Katsina on Thursday and Friday, will be inaugurating some projects executed by Governor Aminu Masari’s administration which is the primary reason for the two-day public holiday.
This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday, January 25 by the Permanent Secretary, state Ministry of Culture and Home Affairs, Alhaji Sani Kabomo.
In the statement, the public holiday was declared to enable workers within the state and local government workforce to receive the President.
It will also coincide with the presidential campaign rally of Bola Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate.
Meanwhile, the state government said in the statement, had remarked that the work-free days would not be affecting workers within the Federal Civil Service, banks, and other essential service providers.
