The Lagos State Police Command has revealed it would commence the investigation of the polling unit where voters were compelled to vote for candidates of the All-Progressives Congress in the state.
This is coming after Twitter user, @omoelerinjare posted a video reporting a polling unit in the Surulere area of Lagos state where voters had been sent home for refusing to vote APC political party during the polls.
In the video, a yet-to-be-identified man was seen saying in pidgin English, “If you no fit vote APC for here, go your house. Nobody force you to come here. I go come look am, if I see you vote another party, you go enter while.”
Additionally, the police command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, had described the act as criminal and against the Electoral Act of 2022.
