The English Premier League has accused Manchester City of breaking the financial fair play regulations, and indications indicate that many complaints against the team could result in a possible point punishment.
After a four-year probe into sponsors and contracts, this has happened.
Alleged violations, which the league says were allegedly committed during nine different seasons, from September 2009–10 to 2017–18, will now be forwarded to an impartial panel.
Man City won three Premier League championships, one FA Cup, and three Carabao Cups throughout the time frame mentioned.
Following investigations that established they had deceived UEFA and violated financial fair play regulations, City was suspended from the Champions League and fined £25 million in February 2020.
However, the court of arbitration for sport removed the suspension and lowered the club’s fine to £9 million.
