Alan Shearer is positive that Mancity has all it takes to retain the premier league title this season. In an interview, Shearer said that the signing of Erling Haaland will strengthen the team’s forward and give them opportunities to score goals as they won the EPL last season even without Haaland, just imagine what they’ll achieve with Haaland considering his performance at the preseason games, he assertive that Haaland will score up to 30 goals this season.
According to Shearer, Jurgen Klopp and his squad exude confidence, and from all indications are ready to contest for the EPL title this Season. If we can recall, Jurgen Klopp has reiterated several times that he is not afraid of other clubs as his squad are well trained and prepared to face any club.
“Even just watching them in the Community Shield and seeing the body language of Jurgen Klopp and his team in that game, you can see they are up for the fight again. Only one point separated them in the end last time, and it is going to be incredibly tight this season too,”
Shearer told BBC Sport.
“If I had to choose a winner now, it would be City – just about – because of Erling Haaland. They won the title without him last year and without using a real center-forward. Now, they have got one who could and should score a minimum of 30 goals this season.”
Alan Shearer is a former football player and manager, he was regarded as one of the best Strikers of his generation and one of the greatest players in premier league history. He is currently a football commentator.
