Barcelona and Manchester United have reached an agreement to lend Marcus Rashford for a season. The LaLiga champions speedily negotiated with the 27-year-old forward and officially presented him on Wednesday.
The Spanish club, as per the terms of the contract, will pay the entire salary of the England international, but he has agreed to reduce his salary by 25% to complete the transaction. In addition, the Catalans can decide to keep Rashford by paying €30 million (£26m) next summer.
Rashford, who has long been a fan of Barcelona, is now on a second loan in a row after his short stint at Aston Villa in the second half of the previous season. When Ruben Amorim took charge at United, Rashford lost his place in the team and seemed guaranteed to leave once the club gave his No. 10 shirt to new signing Matheus Cunha.
Rashford has been unveiled, but due to financial restrictions, he is still not allowed to register for LaLiga. The Catalan club has to change the salary policy or release some players in order to meet the league rules and add the new player.
