There is good news for fashion-forward Givenchy lovers this August: the high-end brand has recently opened a permanent flagship store in Beverly Hills, making it easier to shop its pre-fall 2024 collection which became available online and in stores earlier in June 2024.
August is winding down, and with summer coming to an end, fashionistas are gearing up to dust off their lookbooks in anticipation of the Fall/Autumn season.
During the Fall season, people often opt to wear turtlenecks, chunky sweaters, denim jackets, and cardigans as tops; ankle boots or thigh-high boots for footwear; and scarves and beanies as accessories. This is because Fall marks the transition from the warm summer weather to the cooler temperatures of September through November.
Givenchy’s Pre-Fall 2024 Collection
Now, Givenchy’s Pre-Fall 2024 collections were majorly inspired from the house’s rich heritage of Hubert de Givenchy’s works, with infusions of modern elements to create fresh, contemporary designs. This particular collection laid emphasis on fluidity and ease of dressing, while still managing to give off a formal vibe.
The Givenchy Pre-Fall 2024 collection was designed by Matthew Williams and below are some notable highlights from the designs:
The Highlights from the Women’s Collection:
See all the looks here:
– Colors and Fabrics: Bright colors such as hot pink and orange were stand out colors in what was an otherwise predominant neutral palette. Lightness is achieved through transparency and archival polka-dot motifs.
– Tailoring: The collection for the female part featured a combination masculine-like clothings with plunging necklines and emphasis on the waist.
– Evening Wear: The Little Black Dress or LBD was prominently featured but this time, it came with a twist — a double-draped back and an elegant ruched silk chiffon had dominated the runways.
– Accessories: Givenchy’s versatile Voyou bag and Antigone Cube bag were amply highlighted on the Pre-fall 2024 catwalk.
– Footwear: The women strutted the designs with a boot hybrid of Shark Lock and Voyou on their feet. The shoes were decorated with oversized buckles and came as metallic pump shoes and ballerina slingbacks.
The Highlights from the Men’s Collection

– The Fabrics: Floral graphics and unexpected colors were imprinted into the designs as an ode to Hubert de Givenchy’s appreciation and love for gardens.
– Daywear and Eveningwear: The men’s collection also highlighted the house’s new take on classic wear. A white tuxedo and a black and gold leather perfecto were one of such notable pieces.
– Accessories: The male designs had come paired with Voyou bags but this time, it was a crossbody accessory.
– Footwear: The made models wore an Nfnty 52 shoe with a lightweight, highly resistant Pebax sole.
Conclusion
While this was the last collection that Matthew M. Williams oversaw the designs, it was a breathtaking one that blended contemporary and classic elements for this luxurious fashion house.
