Lionel Messi got one goal closer to hitting an amazing 900 career goals as he helped Inter Miami CF pull off a 2–1 win over D.C. United in the Major League Soccer on Saturday.
At M&T Bank Stadium, Messi scored Miami’s second goal in the 27th minute by calmly chipping the ball into the net after a neat pass from Mateo Silvetti. That goal was Messi’s third of the MLS season and his 80th for Inter Miami, bringing his career total up to 899 goals.

Miami went ahead in the 17th minute when Rodrigo De Paul bent a great shot into the net from just outside the penalty area. D.C.United tried to rally after the break when Tai Baribo scored in the 75th minute to bring the game closer. Inter Miami held strong under late pressure to grab their second win of the season.
The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner scored 672 goals with FC Barcelona and 32 with Paris Saint‑Germain, plus 115 for the Argentina national football team.
The win puts Inter Miami in third place in the Eastern Conference, with six points from their first three games.
