Messi is not Needed in Barca for Now- Xavi
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

Some days ago in an interview, Barcelona boss, Joan Laporta revealed that he still misses Messi and further praised him for the loyalty and dedication he displayed whilst he played for the club and wishes to have Messi end his football career in Barcelona.

Xavi Hernadez, Barcelona’s head coach has revealed that he does not need Messi now, in Barca. He said he is presently okay with his squad as he has very professional players.

Messi’s contract with Barca expired last summer and he had to move to Paris Saint Germain on a two-year deal, however, there are rumors that he is still linked with Barca, Xavi has debunked such rumors, as he is revealed that they are satisfied with their current squad, and besides Messi has only spent just a season with PSG

“It makes no sense to speak about Leo Messi’s comeback at Barcelona right now, he’s under contract with PSG so it’s impossible. We’ll see in the future.”

He then said that he isn’t disputing the fact that Messi might return to Barca, as Joan Laporta has already expressed the wish to have him play for Barca again but not at the moment.

“Laporta had already said he hoped it was not yet the end for Messi at Barça,” Xavi said.
