The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) received a rare endorsement from the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) yesterday for a well-run presidential election.

Yakubu Maikyau, the president of the association, gave the commission an 80 percent rating for its handling of the election.

He went on to say that there were undoubtedly difficulties. There were certain transgressions, some of which constituted electoral offenses, but on the whole, he will rate INEC as performing at around 78, 80 percent in terms of election delivery.
