The Managing Director of, the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency(NEMSA), Engr Aliyu Tahir, has voiced his concerns against the importation of substandard electrical materials into the country.
Tahir, who is additionally the Chief Electrical Inspector of the Federation, had given the warning during the 2023 First Quarter Interactive Session with Energy Reporters in Abuja on Wednesday, April 26.
According to Tahir, the agency was collaborating with the Standard Organisation of Nigeria SON, security agencies, and several stakeholders to ensure that only standard electrical materials were imported into Nigeria.
He also revealed that NEMSA had begun removing substandard materials across the country in 2022.
