A disturbing video has surfaced on social media, in which an Ontario-based Nigerian woman calls for harmful acts against citizens from South-West Nigeria and Edo State. In the live TikTok clip, she, seemingly of Igbo descent, encourages others to poison Yoruba and Benin food items. Her advice is intended to bring suffering and death to these groups of people.
More specifically, she suggests adding poisonous substances, like Otapiapia, to their food and water, aiming to make them sick or even lead them to death.
This woman’s hate speech is directed towards Yoruba and Benin people, whom she calls “fools” with “little or no societal worth.” She advocates for others to adopt a “heart of malevolence” and inflict harm.
As a result, fears have arisen concerning incitement towards violence against certain ethnicities. Authorities and social media platforms are urged to take appropriate action to prevent further harm and promote safety for all individuals.
