The Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NiMet, has announced that there will be haziness and thunderstorms across the country beginning from Thursday to Saturday.
According to its weather outlook issued on Wednesday, February 14 in Abuja, there would be mild dust haze on Thursday with a visibility of between 2km and 5km.
It also reported that there would be localised visibility of less than 1km over the northern states throughout the projected three-day period.
The agency additionally said that there would be a moderate dust haze over the North Central region and there’d be patches of cloud over parts of Kogi, Benue and Kwara States respectively:
A cloudy atmosphere with spells of sunshine over inland states is also to be expected.
The agency further predicted that there could be isolated thunderstorms over parts of Ondo, Osun, Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa, Lagos and Ogun during the afternoon and evening hours.
The use of face masks where possible is strongly advised as there would be dust particles in the atmosphere within this period.
“Airline operators are urged to get updated weather reports and forecasts from NiMet for efficient planning of their operations,’’ the agency stressed.
