John Okafor, popularly known by his stage name, Mr Ibu, a veteran Nollywood actor has died. He was 62 at the time of his death.
According to multiple reports from sources close to the actor, the veteran comedian passed away while at Evercare hospital.
The news of Mr. Ibu’s death is coming a day after the demise of Quadri Oyebamiji, another famed actor who goes by his stage name, Sisi Quadri.
The comedic actor who warmed the hearts of families in the country had undergone surgeries that eventually led to the amputation of his leg, finally succumbed to the cold hands of death. It has not yet been confirmed, when the actor passed away, but the news of his passing began circulating on social media on Saturday evening, March 2.
Recall that before his painful death, there had been rumours about his demise following his absence from media for over three years before the news of him being incapacitated went viral.
Way before that however, Mr. Ibu had in 2019, claimed that his kinsmen paid some of his domestic workers to poison him because of his successful career. He made this claim once more in May 2022, saying that he was poisoned for the third time.
