A picture went viral last week, and the Camp Commandant of Shooting Stars of Ibadan, Auwal Muhammad was seen urinating at the center of the Adamasingba stadium pitch.
Reacting to the incident, The Nigerian Premier League Football, in a letter which was addressed to Shooting Stars, announced that the Interim Management Committee has suspended Auwal Muhammad for a year
And also the club was fined a sum of 500,000 naira, for failing to control its officials, and for bringing Disrepute to the NPFL, they were also warned, never to allow such an incident to repeat itself.
Such conduct is derogatory and degrading to the tenets of football. The stadium itself is an important aspect of football as football is nothing without its Stadium, so why would an official of a club urinate on the stadium? the picture sparked several reactions from netizens, as most people believed that the official was sacked as he had desecrated what football stands for itself, and utterly showed no respect for what football is.
