Osimhen could be back early- Canonico

Napoli’s doctor, Rafael Canonico, has confirmed that Victor Osihmen could make an early return from after being out until next year February.

During Napoli’s 3-2 loss to Inter Milan in November, the Super Eagles forward collided with De Vrij which caused an eye socket injury and it was confirmed by the club’s medical staff that the striker would be out of action for 3 months.

This also mean that he might not lead the lines for the Nigeria male national team at the African Cup Of Nations in Cameroon Next year January.

The services of the in form striker was greatly missed by the Naples as they have just picked up 4 points out of possible 6 in the league, this includes 4-0 defeat of Lazio and a two whole draw against 12th place Sassuolo, in the Europa League. They also lost 2-1 to Sparta Prague.

According to the Napoli’s chief doctor, it took six plaques and 18 screws to restore the broken fracture in his eye socket, he then said the medical staffs were observing the situation of Osimhen, and there’s a possibility that the 23-year-old could be back to training next week pending a new tests that would be carried out. 

The early return of Osimhen would serve as a big boost not only for the Partenopei, but also the Super Eagles and their fans whose fear of Osimhen missing the AFCON comes in a time when there’s high level of uncertainty in the National team over a head coach.
