Victor Osimhen has added the Serie A Player of the Month award to his list of accomplishments in Italy’s elite combat league, just a few days after being named the country’s top foreign athlete.

The Nigerian star, who spearheaded aid efforts for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria, was named the best player in the league for February 2023 after scoring five goals over the previous month, according to an official announcement made yesterday by the Serie A management on social media.

Osimhen currently leads the Serie A in goals scored with 19 from 21 games. On February 17, he scored his 100th career goal to help Napoli defeat Sassuolo 2-0.

He has already scored in seven straight league games for Napoli, a record in the three-point era, and he’s seeking to become the first African to win the Serie A’s top goal scorer award.

Osimhen has won numerous honors since joining Napoli, including Serie A Best Young Player in his debut season and Serie A Player of the Month in March 2022.

The Serie A goal of January 2023 was selected as his lone strike against Roma earlier this year.

The Napoli goal scorer was voted the developing player of the year at the Global Soccer Awards earlier this year in Dubai, and on Monday he was crowned the greatest foreign athlete of the year in Italy.
