Kenyan police operatives have been firing teargas on Monday, March 20 to scatter thousands of opposition supporters assembling in central Nairobi for demonstrations over inflation.
According to AFP reports, the demonstrators had hurled rocks at the anti-riot police. About two dozen people have so far been arrested, including two opposition MPs.
Activists had themselves said the protesters gathering from several areas had planned to march from their homes to the center of the capital, Nairobi, but a lot of them had been dispersed or arrested before reaching there.
For the protesters who made it into the city center, police shot more teargas into the crowd and further arrested individuals.
