The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mohammed Buhari, has met with the governors of states that are under the All Progressive Congress (APC) on Tuesday at the State House in Abuja.
The special adviser to the President on Media and publicity, Femi Adeshina, made the details of the meeting public in a statement signed by him. He said the president had advised the governors to do things that would make them remain in power.
The president further begged the governors to remember the objectives of the party which was to bring victory to the party through a candidate that would make the masses feel confident. He said that the party’s primary elections which would be held soon is a very significant process and the outcome should be proof to the world that APC was indeed a party that is concerned about democratic principles.
Atiku Baguda, the governor of Kebbi state spoke on behalf of the governors and he said that the party would try to come up with candidates that would be patriotic to the country and would promote the love of the country.
