Paris Saint-Germain rippled the nets of Real Madrid with four goals and reached the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final with an emphatic victory, also giving Xabi Alonso a losing streak of one after six wins during this campaign.
The encounter at MetLife Stadium had hardly started when it turned into a horror scene for the Real supporters, who saw their team losing it completely within the first 10 minutes.
Raul Asencio’s mistake handed PSG the lead as Ousmane Dembele got fouled by Courtois, and Fabian Ruiz calmly pushed the ball into the goal after the rebound. A bit later, Antonio Rudiger returned the ball to Dembele erroneously who then calmly finished making the score 2-0.
The French were not only dominating but also scoring with the effort involving Achraf Hakimi, which led to Ruiz scoring his second one of the game. Real was not able to counter the tempo and accuracy of the French champions, with Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue almost scoring a fourth consecutive one.
After the break, Ramos sealed the win late on, capping off a dazzling move set up by Bradley Barcola’s footwork. With five straight clean sheets in knockout fixtures, PSG head into Sunday’s final against Chelsea full of confidence and favourites to lift the revamped Club World Cup trophy.
