Micheal Owusu Addo, also known as Sarkodie, a prominent Ghanaian rapper, strongly denies the allegations made by actress Yvonne Nelson, suggesting that he impregnated her and coerced her into terminating the pregnancy. In addition to rejecting these claims, he referred to her as a woman with a promiscuous lifestyle.
Yvonne Nelson revealed intimate details about her life as an entertainer, including past relationships with men in the industry, in her recently published memoir titled “I am not Yvonne Nelson.” Pages 88 to 95 of the book contain her accusations against Sarkodie, asserting that he impregnated her in 2010 but adamantly opposed the idea of having the child.
While the controversy unfolded, Sarkodie remained silent, leaving many anticipating a retaliatory response. However, on Wednesday, he finally addressed the claims by releasing a diss track titled “Try Me,” in which he refuted Nelson’s version of events.
Contrary to the allegations in her book, Sarkodie maintained that he had encouraged her to keep the baby despite not being prepared to be a father at the time. He stated that she chose to terminate the pregnancy because she was focused on her education.
Sarkodie further alleged that the actress attempted to manipulate him a few weeks ago by arranging a private meeting. However, when he suggested meeting in a public setting, she refused, claiming that a bar would be too exposed. The rapper speculated in the song that the invitation was a ploy to reignite their intimate relationship.
In the lyrics of his song, he sang, “Your life choices are your responsibility, so stop attacking me personally.” He also remarked, “Your book is receiving attention initially, but who can truly be certain? We live in a world where negativity sells. I hope you find the healing you need. Don’t pretend to be a good girl; everyone knows your true nature.”
Although the commotion surrounding Yvonne Nelson’s book has subsided, it emphasizes the fact that the beloved Ghanaian actress willingly divulged her sexual experiences and escapades in a book, which many consider unnecessary. While some admire her courage in exposing her vulnerable side in writing, others criticize her for being gullible enough to reveal her negative aspects.
