Well-known Nigerian singer, Simisola Kosoko, otherwise known as Simi, has alleged that famous American rapper, J.Cole, had eulogised her spectacular songwriting mastery.
According to Simi, the Grammy award-winning rapper’s praise was a beacon that she had “made it” as a songstress and songwriter.
The mother of Deja from her union with Adekunle Gold had made the revelation on X, formerly Twitter on Friday, September 1.
She had posted:
“J.Cole remarked that my pen (game) is lit. So yup, I’ve made it mommy.”
A curious fan had however, challenged the songstress, quoting the Simi her X post, questioning if she would have revealed the praise if it had come from a Nigerian rapper.
The fan had queried:
“If Rugged Man or Mode9 or Vector had said this same thing to you, would you have tweeted about it?”
Simi had simply replied with: “Probably not.”
It seems that J.Cole has recently taken to apportioning praise to music stars in Nigeria as just recently, Burna Boy had claimed in an interview with Rap Radar, that J.Cole had described him as Tupac’s reincarnation during a studio session. This claim has since sparked mixed reactions on various social media platforms.
