Anita Natasha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has shared her growing interest in politics, citing dissatisfaction with how Rivers State is being managed.
In a recent conversation with media personality Ebuka, which premiered on YouTube on Sunday, the Big Brother Naija alum spoke about the untapped potential of her home state. Born and raised in Port Harcourt, Tacha said she believes Rivers is lagging behind compared to other major cities in Nigeria.
“When I look at other states like Abuja and Lagos, and I see how far they’ve come, and with the potential Rivers State has, they’re not trying to exploit it,” she said. “It’s just very disappointing because there are so many youths, so many talents there, so many things that if the government can see light into, a lot can happen.”
Tacha emphasized that change can’t come from constant criticism alone. She believes the most effective way to make a difference is by stepping into leadership roles and actively participating in governance.
“It is something I’m working on,” she noted, referring to her political ambition. “I’ll have to make it 70% done before I can talk about it, because it does not make sense granting interviews like this, talking about the government without being involved.”
Although she did not disclose full details of her plan, her remarks suggest that she is laying the foundation for a future in politics.
Beyond the political sphere, Tacha also announced a personal challenge: she intends to break a Guinness World Record by doing makeup for 150 people within 24 hours.
