The Federal Government of Nigeria has remarked that food insecurity, malnutrition, and climate change were the factors responsible for lower incomes and the increased prices of foodstuffs in the country.
This information had been announced via a statement made by the Ministry of Finance spokesperson, Olude Omolade, and the Permanent Secretary for Budget and Planning, Nebolisa Anako, during an ongoing workshop on the development of an implementation strategy for the Nigerian Food held in Abuja.
Anako had been represented by the Director for National Monitoring and Evaluation, Zakari Lawani, who remarked that the ongoing program was a call to action to achieve progress in dealing with issues of poverty, hunger, malnutrition, disease, unemployment, conflict, and the ever-changing weather patterns.
